We’re delighted to present a brand new two hour mix from the Brighton based Soft Rocks side-project, Salinas Jockey Club.
Andy and Chris from Brighton based DJ and producer team Soft Rocks have a new project – Salinas Jockey Club – that we first heard about via their regular show on the excellent Deep Frequency online radio station and a mix on Test Pressing back in February. Lots lined up in the new year, including an exclusive interview with us in January, they will also be starting a new label called SunSeaSand in 2013 with releases from them and some others. All that and new releases on Kinfolk and plenty DJ dates, parties and the like. Kinfolk are also having a NYE Party in Brighton with Salinas Jockey Club, Phil Mison and more. If you’re in that part of the country it would be the place to go.
Musically, the mix is right across the board as you can imagine if you’ve ever had the privilege of hearing any Soft Rocks mixes over the years. A downtempo, ambient and Balearic vibe does permeate throughout the two hour journey but to pigeonhole like that would be doing these chaps a massive disservice we think. Stick it on and enjoy.
